Students in grades pre-k through eighth from Our Lady of Lourdes School, West Islip, have collaborated with Project Homefront to supply "goody bags" to the American troops overseas. The students were issued a gallon size bag to fill with easy to open items such as pop-top cans of tuna, individual size cereals, as well as granola bars, snacks and drinks that can be easily mixed with water, flavor mixes, instant coffee, tea, cocoa, etc.The stu- dents filled over 200 bags and sent several boxes to the troops.

Project Homefront is a non-profit organization based in Staten Island, whose coordinators are mothers of soldiers stationed in Iraq.
