Sprachman (5), Jaclyn Johrden (8) and Samantha Kennedy (10) and in the front row are Arsenio Minondo (Co-Salutatorian), Raymond Wong (Valedictorian), Sean K. Hughes (Co-Salutatorian).,
Family, friends, and the Deer Park Administration joined Deer Park High School's academic elite at a breakfast to announce the Top 11 graduating seniors of the Class of 2008. Deer Park High School Principal Nanine Cuttitta, joined by school counselors, provided brief, yet impressive, resumes for each student. Not only academically talented, this group of seniors has excelled through music programs, athletic teams, community service, and student government during their careers in the Deer Park School District.

Finishing at the head of the class was Raymond Wong, the Valedictorian for the Class of 2008. Arsenio Minondo and Sean K. Hughes tied for Co-Salutatorian, prompting the District to name 11 top students rather than 10.

In addition to posting some of Deer Park's highest grade point averages, three seniors were also recognized for their national academic success. Kristen A. McKenna, who is ranked third in the Class of 2008, is a semifinalist for the National Merit Scholarship Program for excellence on the PSAT. Allison M. Nunez, ranked fourth in the class, is a scholar-finalist for the National Hispanic Scholarship Program. Senior Tae Ken Kim, who is not a member of the Top 11, was awarded with a National Merit Commendation.
