Ocean Beach Fire Department chief honored

Suffolk County Treasurer Angie Carpenter honored Ocean Beach Volunteer Fire Department Chief Franklin R. Silsdorf with a proclamation for his 30 yars of service to the department. His outstanding service to the community of Ocean Beach, serving as chief of the Volunteer Fire Department for a full 20 years, earned him the respect and deepest appreciation of so many. "Franklin is a leader in the community and provided countless hours of servvice to the Ocean Beach Volunteer Fire Department and the residents, not only of Fire Island, but Suffolk county." said Carpenter.
