Good Samaritan opens State-of-the-Art Center for Pediatric Specialty Care

To accommodate an increasing need for pediatric specialty care services, Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center's Center for Pediatric Specialty Care has moved to an expanded location. The new site, 655 Deer Park Ave., Babylon, provides 22 examination and treatment rooms, 6 waiting rooms, 180 dedicated parking spaces and more appointment slots and staffing.

Good Samaritan's Center for Pediatric Specialty Care, which currently sees more than 20,000 patients each year, is Suffolk County's largest pediatric specialty center. The center has physicians trained in pediatric subspecialties including cardiology, neurology, pulmonology, endocrinology, gastroenterology, cystic fibrosis, sleep disorders and fetal echocardiography.

Children suffering from heart conditions, blood disorders, epilepsy, asthma or other conditions that require a pediatrician with extensive experience in managing childhood diseases, are treated at the center. Parents are comforted by knowing they can bring their children to a team of highly trained specialists located close to home.

Good Samaritan's pediatric department offers a comprehensive continuum of care that ensures that newborns through adolescents receive expert care. The hospital offers pediatric emergency services, a neonatal intensive care unit, a pediatric intensive care unit and a cystic fibrosis center in addition to a pediatric specialty care center.
