Local Scout plants trees for community

Robert Vames , of Troop 1 Boys Scouts in Babylon is currently working toward his Eagle Scout rank.

Vames' Eagle Project, is the planting of between 12 and 14 hardwood trees along Montauk Highway and St. Mark's Lane at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Islip. This project is scheduled to be completed in two phases. The phase one planting of five hardwoods took place on October 28 and the second phase is scheduled for the spring of 2008.
