A message from the heart

Dear Editor:

I wanted to share a personal experience with you and your readers. I am writing this letter to tell you how a church helped me with my problems.

Everything started when my wife died in June, 2005 at the age of 47. She died in my arms. As a result of this loss, my health started to go downhill. I was diagnosed with COPD, had two heart attacks and a stroke and was diagnosed with cancer. I was operated on and was then diagnosed with diabetes. I had a blood clot in my neck and was operated on again.

I began to go to church every Sunday and it was there that I met so many people who became my friends and gave me the support whenI needed it most. There is a way; there is a place and most of all, there is a God. And, I found it all at the First United Methodist Church in Amityville.
From my heart
