Parent's Resource Center schedule of events The Parents' Resource Center of the Deer Park School District offers community members an informal forum in which to discuss ideas and ask questions about any relevant issues or concerns they may have. The Center conduct workshops, seminars and discussion groups on topics chosen based on parental interest and needs. Programs are held at the Abraham Lincoln School, 300 Park Ave., Room 11, Deer Park. The following groups will be conducted in the near future: •You can learn more about English Language Arts (ELA) in Deer Park, the district's strategy to improve literacy, New York State Exams and more Friday, Dec. 7, 9:30 to 11 a.m. The group will be led by Dominique Kawas, director of ELA, Deer Park. •On Monday, Dec. 10, 9:30 to 11 a.m. learn more about physical education, recent changes to the program and curriculum, New York state guidelines and requirements etc. The discussion group will be led by Frank Leahy, director of physical education, Deer Park. •A parent support group will be held Friday, Dec. 14, 9:30 to 11 a.m. •On Tuesday, Dec. 18, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Lisa Lee from DDL will present Parent Training: Autism Spectrum Disorder and Related Topics. •On Friday, Dec. 21, a program in Holiday Stress Management will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m.
