Our Lady of Consolation Nursing Home celebrates Sukkah
On Tuesday, October 2 the Jewish residents at Our Lady of Consolation, West Islip, celebrated the holiday of Sukkah. Rabbi Abraham Lehr of Chai Center in Dix Hills brought a mobile Sukkah booth and explained the significance of the various plants and fruits which serve to remind the Jewish people of the times when their ancestors wandered in the scorching desert. Storyteller, Debra Landau and her family, arranged the visit and helped transport the residents to visit the booth on the autumn afternoon.
