Find the true spirit of the season
Editorial

Stores opening up at 4 a.m., and staying open 'till midnight or later, it's enough to give any holiday shopper agita.

Don't be fooled, spending money and thinking of others is not that difficult. You don't have to turn your life inside out, getting up before sunrise and laboring through the stores and down the shopping aisles for the perfect gift, though the advertising messages would have you think so.

Instead, put some thought into what you are purchasing and find joy in selecting your gifts. Find pleasure in what you have time to do and understand that you can't do everything for everybody every year. It's not humanly possible to keep up with what the demands of the advertising messages in the newspapers, on television and radio.

Christmas and Chanukah are more than that. They are holidays that are supposed to bring you peace. Focus on your life and your family and think of the less fortunate and you will celebrate the true spirit of the season.

And, sleep in- the stores are waiting.
