North Babylon student designs poster for statewide art show
      Each year, the New York State Art Teachers' Association (NYSATA) sponsors the Legislative Student Art Exhibit in the Legislative Office Building in Albany. The exhibit is composed of student artwork from all over New York State.

Lindenhurst High School celebrates breast cancer awareness month
      Lindenhurst High School students, teachers, and administrators were encouraged to wear pink to school in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. (October) There was also a cake and carnation sale and a gift basket raffle. Over $1,200 was raised for the Breast Cancer Campaign.

Little Doctors of Deer Park take action at community blood drive
      Deer Park's John F. Kennedy (JFK) Intermediate School students were academically prepared to host a blood drive at their school gymnasium. In accordance with the New York Blood Center fifth grade students have been enrolled in the "Little Doctors" program as part of their science curriculum.

Students hold fall festival
      JFK Elementary School in West Babylon recently held its annual fall festival. Children of all ages spent the evening decorating pumpkins, dancing, enjoying face painting and a variety of crafts. This fun-filled event was sponsored by JFK's PTA.
