Earlier this spring two local Suffolk County officials joined in the celebration of the West Islip Public Library's 50th anniversary of service to the community. Suffolk County Treasurer Angie Carpenter and Suffolk County Legislator Tom Barraga of the 11th District joined trustees of the West Islip Public Library, along with many other local leaders and library users, to mark the event on Sunday, June 10. Each official presented a proclamation, now on display at the library, recognizing a half-century of library service in the West Islip community.
