South Bay Elementary Family Math Night winners

Students at the South Bay Elementary School in the West Babylon School District invited their parents to school for Family Math Night. Estimation contests were among the many activities offered to the participants. Fourth grader John McMahon won for estimating the number of nickels in a jar. He said 187 and the actual count was 185. First grader Alex Brodmerkel put in his guess for the number of pumpkin candies in a jar. His speculation of 97 was just two more than the actual 95.
