More Travelers news

The November 5 meeting of the Travelers Club was held at the home of Mrs. Jessie Twohill. Nancy Calabrez presented a paper called Dragon Tales. The subject was Chinese holidays which are based on the lunar calendar. The most important holiday is the spring festival when people visit the sites of their dead relatives and light incense. It can take up to 12 people to don the dragon costume because of its long tail. When it goes by, people open their doors to let in the good luck the dragon brings. Music and drama entertained with readings of Chinese folk tales.
