Local resident inducted
Michelle E. O'Rourke, of Bay Shore, was inducted into the Xi Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Society at Lynchburg College, Lynchburg, Virginia. The mission of Sigma Theta Tau International is to improve the health of people worldwide by advancing nursing leadership and scholarship. The organization's purposes are to: recognize superior achievement, develop leadership qualities, foster high professional standards, encourage creative work and strengthen commitment to the ideals and purposes of the profession. O'Rourke is a senior nursing major at Lynchburg College.
