Lauren Gabel of West Babylon, earned a 4.0 grade point average at the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising (LIM) for the Spring 2007 semester. A 4.0 is the highest GPA possible and means that the student received a grade of "A" in every course.

LIM is the "College for the Business of Fashion" and is located in New York City. It offers bachelor of business administration (BBA) degrees in fashion merchandising, visual merchandising, marketing and management, as well as bachelor of professional studies (BPS) and associate de- grees in fashion merchandising. An LIM education combines in-class instruction by professors who are experts in their field with required internships in the fashion and related industries from which students gain real-world skills and experience.
