West Islip seniors ready for college

Three outstanding West Islip High School seniors, who excel academically and athletically, have their college plans in place. Dani Mullin (left in photo), captain of the West Islip Girls Varsity Golf Team, holder of the County title in golf since seventh grade, and ranked second in the state, will be studying pre-med at Elon University in North Carolina. Amanda Filiippazzo (center), captain of the Girls Varsity Softball Team and a member of the All-State Softball Team, has a full scholarship to Siena College where she will major in Business & Marketing. Kristin Alotta, the number one tennis player in Suffolk County, will compete for the state championship in November. Kristen will be majoring in liberal arts in the fall at Williams. High School Principal Ken Hartill and Athletic Director Wayne Shierant agree these three young ladies are exceptional scholar athletes.
