Islip Art Museum exhibition from December 9 to January 6 The Islip Art Museum will present TreeMendous, a holiday exhibition that features festive installation projects by six contemporary artists. The exhibition will be on view in the Carriage House at Brookwood Hall, 50 Irish Ln., East Islip, from Dec. 9 to Jan. 6, 2008. Admission is free. TreeMendous is suitable for families and is designed to introduce young and old alike to the contemporary art world. It features the following artists who have created installations that carry on the exhibition's tree theme: Monica Banks, Barbara Campisi, Sara Hanlon, Hoop, Roni Nicholson and Jason Paradis. A reception for TreeMendous will be held on Dec. 9, 4 to 6 p.m. with a tree lighting at 4 p.m. In addition to the tree lighting, the following related event has been scheduled: A tour of the TreeMendous exhibition followed by an informal tea on Thursday, Dec. 13 at 3 p.m. There is $5 reservation fee, which must be paid in advance.
