On Wednesday, October 4, the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi, the residents and staff at Our Lady of Consolation, West Islip, participated in the Blessing of the Animals in the auditorium. Following prayer, scripture reading and song led by Sandy Smith and Terry McNally of the Pastoral Care Department, a number of animals, belonging to staff and family members, were all blessed. The Feast Day Celebration concluded with everyone joining in singing animal songs and time with the pets.
