Dedication ceremony held at N.Y. Firemen's Home

Shown at the ribbon-cutting of the room sponsored by the Onondaga County VFA Ladies Auxiliary is North Babylon resident Augustus "Steve" Buttafuoco, who is now a resident of the Firemen's Home, along with Kathleen Heighton, General Blair and Jo Ann Dunn.
Thousands of statewide firefighters recently attended dedication ceremonies held in recognition of the Firemen's Home of the State of New York's new 92-bed facility. The Firemen's Home, which dates back to 1892, houses New York State volunteer firefighters, their spouses and ladies auxiliary members. Local fire departments and groups around the state as well as individuals were given an opportunity to sponsor a room at the Firemen's Home.
