Sylvia Siegel Booth, Babylon Village resident
After emigrating from England to the United States as an infant, her family settled in Lindenhurst where they helped found the Breslau Cemetery. Her family ran a tailor's shop after relocating to Babylon Village, where she lived for many years including 40 years on Alexander Avenue. According to her nephew, Aaron Stein of Babylon Village, Mrs. Booth gave up her dream of attending law school after her father died. Instead, she helped raise her brothers. She did, however, work for many years as a legal secretary at the Fishel, Loughlin & Bauers law firm in Babylon. In her spare time, she loved visiting with her friends and family. Mrs. Booth leaves behind her step children: Jonathan and Joy; two step grandsons; three step great grandsons; her niece Margie Ewald (nee Siegel) of Babylon Village; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand nephews on the Siegel side. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth, and her step grandson, Jonathan Jr. Arrangements for cremation by Seawinds Funeral Home in Sebastian, Florida. Interment followed in Long Island National Cemetery in Pinelawn, New York.
