File for your STAR rebate by November 30

Receiver of Taxes Corinne DiSomma would like to inform homeowners that the deadline to file for the 2007 New York State Property Tax Rebate Check is Friday, November 30. Any homeowner needing assistance with their application,which is required to receive the rebate, may contact the Wyandanch Community Development Corp. (WCDC), 59 Cumberbach St., Wyandanch, NY 11798. To make an appointment, please call 631- 253-0139, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The services are at no cost to you.

WCDC Housing Program is a HUD certified community based organization serving residents of the Babylon Township with comprehensive housing counseling needs.

Please remember, your Rebate Check is in addition to the property tax relief you already receive through the STAR program, which is shown on your tax bill.

Seniors, 65 years or older, who receive the Enhanced STAR exemption, do not have to apply for their 2007 New York State Property Tax Rebate Check. Those will be mailed automatically.
