Islip Art Museum exhibition

The Islip Art Museum will present Wit on Wry, an exhibition which features artists who create works with humorous messages that comment on our human foibles.

The exhibition will be on view in the Museum's main galleries at Brookwood Hall, 50 Irish Ln., East Islip, from Nov. 28 through Jan. 27, 2008. A reception for the artists will be held Sunday, December 9, 3 to 5 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. Reservations are not required.

Karen Shaw will curate the Wit on Wry exhibition. Artists in the show include: Allen Barber, Roz Chast, Linus Coraggio, Bill Cravis, Ron Hutt, Jimmy and Dena Katz, Lindsay Packer, Lance Rutledge and William Stone.

In addition, a tour of the exhibition followed by an informal tea will be held Thursday, Dec. 6 and Thursday, Jan. 10, 2008, 3 p.m. There is a $5 reservation fee, which must be paid in advance. To check availability, call 631-224-5402.
