Annual Duck Waddle Run November 3

The Central Islip Main Street Alliance will hold its 8th annual 5K Duck Waddle Run, Saturday, November 3, 10 a.m. sharp, rain or shine. Registration for the race begins 8 a.m. inside the Citibank Park Stadium on the day of the race. Race preregistration is $20 and on the day

the race, registration is $25. The application

posted on the website of www.glirc.org. The Duck Waddle Run is USATF sanctioned.

The race will begin and end at Citibank Park in Central Islip. The course is through the campus of New York Institute of Technology. Measurements and results will be provided by Finish Line Road Race Technicians, Inc. Awards will be given to the top three male and top three female finishers. There will also be age group awards in 14 separate categories beginning at age 14 and under up to age 70 plus as well as to the top three wheelchair finishers.

For youngsters there will be a free Fun Run led by Quacker Jack, mascot of the Long Island Ducks. The Fun Run begins at 9:30 a.m. Spectators are welcome.

The special guest will be a visit and demonstration by the Suffolk County Police Department's K-9 Unit. The police officer dogs are trained to assist finding people, contraband or explosives in unique situations.

Proceeds will be donated to the Central Islip Main Street Alliance for the C. Noel Bonilla II Scholarship and the betterment of the Central Islip Community.
