DP man struck and killed by automobile in Babylon Village; police ask for public's help in investigation of accident Suffolk County Police First Squad is investigating a motor vehicle crash Oct. 21, at Little East Neck Road and Trolley line Road, Babylon, claiming the life of a Deer Park man in an accident. Michael Banks, 48, of 10 Warwick St., Deer Park, was crossing Little East Neck Road at Trolley Line Road against the green light at about 8:50 p.m. on Saturday evening. A 2000 Chrysler, driven by Eric Freeman, 26, of 80 Bengeyfield Dr., East Williston, struck him in the roadway. Freeman had hit his brakes and attempted to avoid hitting Banks, but was unsuccessful. Banks sustained severe head trauma and was airlifted to Stony Brook University Medical Center by police helicopter. He expired at 4:30 this morning. Freeman's vehicle was impounded for a safety check.
