Get prepared to be scared!
WestIslip family to host fundraiser haunted house event this weekend

Shown in the photo, West Islip High School seniors Andrea Kendrick and Samantha Sforza invite everyone to their Haunted House.
Once again, Kendrick Family is having a Haunted House located at 841 Udall Rd., West Islip. To add to the pleasure of the night, all proceeds go to the school district's Lionheart Fund, which helps neighbors in times of crisis.

Started several years ago to provide safe fun for younger children while raising money for Lionheart, students Andrea Kendrick and Samantha Sforza created a Haunted House at Andrea's house. In just a few short years, the girls, their families, friends and classmates have been joined by nearby neighbors who offer their driveways for additional parking, imaginations for new ideas, and extra hands to help enlarge the area for more mangy monsters, creepy crawlers and cellar dwellers.

Each year, as the Haunted House got bigger and better, so did the donation to Lionheart. Admission to all the fun is $5 a person, and last year, the girls presented a check for $1,000 to Lionheart Fund coordinator (and Captree Elementary School Principal) John Mullins. Lionheart founder Mikki McCullough said, "The job these girls have done is nothing short of extremely impressive." This year, there's even a website to view: www.andreashauntedhouse.com

The Haunted House will be open on Friday, October 26 and Saturday, October 27, 6:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. and on Halloween night from 7 to 10 p.m.
