Local Scholars make the news

Erin Conway
•Erin Conway, of Babylon Village, graduate on May 18, cum laude from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, earning a bachelor of science degree in business management. She is a 2003 graduate of Babylon High School. She is the daughter of Cathy and Darrell Conway. She is currently attending the University of Connecticut School of Law.

•Ryan Cullinane, the son of June and Shawn Cullinane of Lindenhurst, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at the State University of New York at Fredonia. He is a graduate of Lindenhurst High School and is a senior majoring in English with a minor in communications.

•The following local residents were recently awarded degrees from Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University of the State University of New York: Theodore Calafates, of Babylon, received a bachelor of arts in psychology; Angela M. Orlando, of Babylon, received a bachelor of arts in math-actuarial; Eric P. Mazurkewitz, of North Babylon, received a bachelor of arts in biological sciences; Stephanie R. Gibbons, of Deer Park, received a bachelor of arts in psychology: applied and Sarah M. Constantinou, of Lindenhurst, received a bachelor of arts in psychology.

•Estefania C. Gallardo, of Lindenhurst, received a bachelor of science in accounting from the School of Management at Binghamton University of the State University of New York.

•Two local residents have been awarded Trailblazer Scholarships to attend Stony Brook Southampton which welcomed its first-ever class in September. They are Danielle Thompson, of North Babylon, a graduate of North Babylon High School and Joel Kramer of Lindenhurst, a graduate of Saint John Baptist Diocesan High School.
