Farmingdale Univertsity to hold blood drive Oct. 31

Farmingdale State College and Long Island Blood Services are sponsoring a community blood drive on Wednesday, October 31, 10:30 a.m. to 7p.m. on the Farmingdale State campus in Roosevelt Hall's Multi- Purpose Room. The college is located on Route 110.

The Farmingdale State College Blood Drive on October 31, 2006 was a record-breaking success and the "bestever" recruitment effort. The record breaking results yielded 130 donations.

Long Island hospitals require almost 800 pints of blood per day. With a single donation, a person can help up to four people. One in three people will need blood sometime during his/her lifetime.

Donors must be between 16 and 75, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in general good health. At the time of donation, donors must have either photo or signed identification and know their social security number.
