Richard Devlin, resident of Bay Shore

Richard M. Devlin, Sr. loved woodworking and made beautiful, hand -carved train sets for his family and friends. Every Christmas, in fact, recipients looked forward to receiving a new car to add to their collection. He died September 9, 2007.

Born in Queens, he spent four years in the Navy based in California and Hawaii. For 50 years, he lived in Bay Shore with his wife, Lillian who described him as a wonderful man who always had a wide smile on his face. He held the title of "lead man" at Grumman Aircraft where he worked on airplanes for more than 25 years.

Mr. Devlin leaves behind his wife of 50 years, Lillian; his children: Lillian Boletti and her husband Joseph, Patricia and Richard Matthew Jr.; his siblings: John, Anne Gallagher, and Gerald; his four grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph.

He reposed at the Claude R. Boyd-Caratozzolo Funeral Home in Deer Park on September 12 and 13, 2007. A Mass of Christian Burial was held at Our Lady of Lourdes on September 14, 2007 followed by interment at Calverton National Cemetery.
