OLC hosts annual Celebration of Life Ball

On May 17, Our Lady of Consolation, West Islip, hosted its 13th annual Celebration of Life Ball at Southward Ho Country Club in Bay Shore. This year Douglas J. and Kenneth M. Chapey of Chapey & Sons Funeral Home, were chosen as the 2007 recipients of the Celebration of Life Award. "Doug and Ken Chapey have been chosen for the Celebration of Life Award for their outstanding excellence to serving our community and their daily expression of compassion and dignity in their everyday work," said Our Lady of Consolation's President & CEO Dennis J. Verzi.

Rev. Msgr. James Vlaun, President & CEO of Telecare and close friend of the Chapey family was the chairperson of this event. Rev. Msgr. James Vlaun also serves on Our Lady of Consolation's Board of Trustees and continuously supports this event and the mission of Our Lady of Consolation.

Our Lady of Consolation established the Celebration of Life Award in 1994 to recognize individuals and businesses in the local community for their contributions to the vitality, quality of life, and economic growth of Long Island.

All proceeds from this year's Celebration of Life Ball will go directly to benefit resident and patient activities at Our Lady of Consolation.
