Arthritis Foundation to hold exercise class at Sterling Glen of Bay Shore
Free Class Open to HIP Health Insurance Holders

Sterling Glen of Bay Shore, an assisted living senior residence, will host an eight-week exercise program, which is open to the public. To attend this class, participants must have HIP health insurance. The half-hour classes will meet on Mondays from October 15 to December 10 beginning at 9:45 a.m. Pre-registration is required. The Arthritis Foundation Exercise Program is a community-based, recreational exercise program that has been designed by the Arthritis Foundation to promote physical, social and mental well-being. The program is particularly suitable for seniors and those who have arthritis.

The class will be instructed by a trained member of the Arthritis Foundation. The program will feature exercises, which increase joint flexibility and range of motion and help maintain muscle strength. The exercises may be performed seated or standing. Each participant works at his or her own level of activity, making it a safe program.
