Babylon's ballplayers beat Half Hollow Hills

Babylon 5th Grade Baseball played Half Hollow Hills Saturday September 22, at North Babylon's Phelps Lane, winning 11-1.

Babylon continues to slug its way around the bases. Batting highlights of the game went to Christopher Dewey with a two-run homerun to deep right center and Spencer Myerson, with 5 RBIs, hit the ball so hard, he legged out Babylon's first inthe park grand slam homerun.

Liam Young went 2 for 3, 2 stolen bases and scored twice. Defensive play of the game went to Zachary Carmody with a diving in the air backhand catch, had 2 put outs, 3 walks and scored twice.

Winning pitcher Spencer Howard pitched 2 innings facing nine batters and had 2 strikeouts. Howard also had 2 stolen bases and scored 3 times. Closing pitcher Kevin Blau pitched 2 innings, gave up 1 earned run and had 3 strikeouts.

Babylon's game ended early after the fourth inning due to a league ten run rule.

Babylon's next game is Saturday October 6th 10:00 am field 5, all at North Babylon Phelps Lane.
