plan is good for our region

Dear Editor:

Please be advised that as a business owner on Long Island who relies on deliveries of raw materials from outside of our region that I am in favor of the intermodal facility and feel that your position is a misguided attempt at "not in my back yard" politics. The fact is that our bridges and highways are already overloadeded with trucks and that this proposal will help alleviate traffic and congestion. In addition, it will make greater use of our rail systems (and therefore less pollution) and provide local jobs instead of allowing out of state truckers to drive our roads.
