Shown in the photo are West Islip Public Library Director Andrew Hamm, Library Trustee Mary Alice Markham, Library Board President Davine Schwarz, Assemblyman Phil Boyle, Library Board Vice President Simonne Harkavy, Library Trustee Joseph Shields and Library Trustee Joan Schumacher.
On Tuesday, July 10, the West Islip Public Library and the Public Library Directors Association of Suffolk County honored New York State Assemblyman Phil Boyle for his support of Suffolk County's public libraries.

Assemblyman Boyle is a member of the New York Assembly's Library and Educational Technology Committee, and has been instrumental in promoting and supporting library improvement projects around New York state. The West Islip Public Library has recently installed an audio visual projection and sound system in its children's activity room through a grant from Assemblyman Boyle's office. This equipment has greatly enhanced the library's ability to offer quality audio-visual programming to the children of West Islip.
