Babylon Village Girl Scout receives Gold Award
at a ceremony with family, friends and dignitaries present. The Girl Scout Gold Award is the highest award earned in Girl Scouting. Bonventre spent two years working on her
prerequisites and her project which was a newsletter put out for the Scouts, parents and leaders of Service Unit 14. She wrote articles and collected pictures from troops in Babylon so that the Scouts could see what everyone else in their community was doing and also to show off what they were doing. She wanted to open up communication between Scouts and troops.
