Robert Tucker, 25 year Babylon Villager

Longtime Babylon Village resident Robert Edward Tucker Sr., a retired Long Island Railroad employee, died July 11, 2007 in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Born August 8, 1921 in Brooklyn to Edward and Anna Tucker O'Brien, he was a proud Army veteran who served during World War II.

For 30 years, he worked as a storekeeper at the Jamaica Yard of the Long Island RailRoad until his retirement in 1978 when they moved to North Carolina. He and his wife, Elizabeth, raised their children on Litchfield Avenue in Babylon Village where they lived for more than 25 years.

Mr. Tucker leaves behind his children: Robert "Bobby: F., Jr. and Betty L. Crawford; his grandchildren: Colleen Sluka and Caroline Crawford; his great grandchildren: Peter Sluka, Jr. and his wife Jaclyn and Ellen Makkas and her husband

Sotirios "Sam;" his great great grandchildren: Tiffany and Megan Sluka; and his sister: Florie Ingarra. He was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth Ilona and his son in law, Bruce Crawford.
