Village negotiations with CSEA in fact finding
BY CAROLYN JAMES

The ongoing labor dispute between the Village of Babylon and its CSEA Highway Department employees is now in fact finding. Already, the Village has had one meeting with the arbitor and says that the negotiations "are moving forward."

"There seemed to be some progress and discussion," said Mayor Ralph Scordino. "We will be meeting again and hopefully reach some resolution."

A spokesman for the CSEA did not return a phone call with comment by press time.

In other Village news:

•the fall tree planting program is underway and the fall mums have been ordered and will be planted shortly;

•the Village pool is closed and has been winterized. The next Board meeting is Tuesday, Sept. 25.
