Republican candidates support earthquake relief

The candidates are presenting a check in the amount of $1,000 to support earthquake relief in Peru. On Sunday, August 28, the Peruvian American Chamber of Commerce of Long Island held a fundraiser at the El Salvadoran Consulate in Brentwood to raise funds to assist earthquake victims of the August 16 earthquake that killed hundreds and ravaged the southern cities of Pisco and Ica. During the event, Datre, a retired high school Spanish teacher, speaking in Spanish, thanked the attendees and Chamber for hosting the event and for helping the victims of the Peruvian earthquake.
