      The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation announces that the 2007 South Shore Classic (Bluefish & Striped Bass) Surf Fishing Tournament will be conducted from noon on Friday,October 19, to noon on Sunday, October 21.

Deer Park Community Center fall programs
      The Deer Park Community Center, 41 Homer Ave., Deer Park, will be registering for its fall/winter schedule soon. There will be basketball for ages five to seven and 11 to 13 on Mondays and for eight to 10-year-olds on Wednesdays.
