N. Babylon student honored at Science Fair

Leo Clarke of Robert Moses Middle School in North Babylon is shown with his award-winning project.
Leo Clarke was honored by the North Babylon School Board on June 21,2007at Robert Moses Middle School for hisachievement and honorable mention at the Brookhaven Science Fair in May. A second grader at Belmont Elementary School, he was not only one of 3 winners at his school but also competed against 500 children in Suffolk County where he was one of 5 honorable mentions. His project "Do bigger parachutes fall faster than smaller parachutes?" tested different sized parachutes to see how changes in the size of the parachute affect flight. "I thought the bigger parachutes would fall faster"said, Leo "I guess my hypothesis was wrong."
