Annual Nassau County AOH Feis and Festival September 16

The Nassau County Board of the Ancient Order

Hibernians will hold its 35th annual Feis and Festival, on Sunday, September 16, at Hempstead Harbor Beach Park, West Shore Road, Port Washington, Nassau County, starting at 9 a.m. Admission is $10. There will be competitions in solo Irish dancing, amateur and championship figure dancing, and solo piping and drumming. There will be pipe bands on hand, playing individually and en masse, as well as many Irish cultural events and entertainment, including Irish traditional singing, Irish football, Irish soda bread, Irish art, language, music and games.

There will be musical entertainment at the feis provided by the Mac Talla Mor band. Vendors will be selling Irish-related goods. Picnic facilities are available.

Roman Catholic Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The Ancient Order of Hibernians is the oldest Irish Catholic Organization in America, dedicated to the church and to the heritage and culture of their ancestors.
