Police seek public's help in North Lindenhurst car crash Suffolk County Police Department First Squad detectives are investigating a two-car motor vehicle crash that occurred in North Lindenhurst, Wednesday, Aug. 29. Two young children were injured in that incident, which occurred at 8:30 p.m. Police gave these accounts: Oscar Estevez, 25, of 504 Albany Ave., Amityville, was driving a 1995 Acura Integra westbound on Cordeiro Avenue. He made a left-hand turn southbound onto Wellwood Avenue when he was struck broadside on the driver side of the vehicle by a 2006 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. The TrailBlazer, operated by James Spillane, 35, of 118 Ampel Ave., North Bellmore, was traveling north on Wellwood Avenue. Estevez' ten-month-old daughter was seated behind him in a car seat and sustained head injuries. His three-year-old son was also in a car seat and was ejected from the vehicle. Various rescue agencies responded and transported the Estevez family to Good Samaritan Hospital where Oscar was being treated for injuries to his right knee, lower back and abdominal pain. Both children were treated for head trauma and are listed in stable condition. Spillane was treated for a bruise to his left knee and was released. Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. Estevez was issued a summons for driving with a revoked license and Spillane was issued a summons for an uninspected motor vehicle.
