West Babylon teachers featured at literacy seminar
The 52nd annual International Reading Association 2007 Convention: Literacy Without Boundaries, held in Toronto from May 13 to 17, featured a seminar given by two educators from the West Babylon School District. JoAnn Scott and Carol Varsalona were presenters at a two hour and forty-five minute session, Extending Balanced Literacy Through Literacy Work Stations. Three hundred fifty educators from the United States and Canada attended. Scott and Varsalona hosted the discussion along with Debbie Diller, a national literacy author, consultant, and creator of the Literacy Work Station Model.
