Wild dog injures walker in Udall fields in West Islip

Dear Editor:

As I walked across Udall Field, I was attacked and bitten by his unleashed, large black dog, whose cowardly owner said he would take me to the hospital as soon as he got his car that was parked close by. That never happened. He took his dog in the opposite direction and left me standing on the field. Another person saw me, took me home so my husband could take me to the hospital. The same dog attacked my husband several days later. Three weeks ago, I was at- tacked by his white, unleashed dog named Roscoe as I walked across Udall Field. On Thursday, I was attacked by the same white dog, Roscoe, as I walked across Manetuck field. The owner, whose property abuts Udall Fields, uses those fields as his private dog run. He has no regard for the signs posted on school property that prohibits dogs from school grounds and no regard for the safety of the students or adults using the facilities.
