Lindenhurst school celebrates the arts

The sixth annual Celebration of the Arts showcased the fine and performing arts from the district's elementary, middle and high schools. Lawrence Roberts, coordinator of music and art, presented an afternoon at the high school filled with art exhibits that ranged from paintings, photography, and sculptures to a music program featuring selections by the chorus, dance company, orchestra, band, recorder and string ensembles.

Lindenhurst High School media students were actively working on projects in the media arts lab, so visitors could see their talent in progress. Guests were encouraged to visit the various venues throughout the afternoon and view performances by the multi-talented students.

"Celebration of the Arts is a great day," exclaimed District Coordinator Larry Roberts. "It shows the development of skills at all levels and reflects how the district utilizes visual and performing arts in our curriculum."
