Students recognized for making history in the Town of Babylon

The Town of Babylon Historic Preservation Commission held a History Day Essay Contest and presented awards to the winners June 9. This year's theme was "The History of My Community Library."

The youngsters and their families were welcomed to the event by Thomas B. Smith, Town Historian. Awards presentations were made by Deputy Supervisor Councilwoman Ellen T. McVeety and Historic Commission Chairperson, Councilwoman Carol A. Quirk.
