For half a century, the North Lindenhurst Fire Department has been serving the people of the community with fire protection and rescue services, education and fire prevention. On July 21, the department recognized its 50th anniversary with a community celebration. The event was attended by members of the department and their families, community residents and public officials, including Babylon Town Supervisor Steve Bellone who congratulated Chief Walter Singer and firefighters on the milestone and thanked them for their commitment to the people of Babylon Town.
