•The following local residents received degrees from The College of Saint Rose in the fall 2006: Pierre Dupuy of Bay Shore received a certificate of advanced study and Tracy Sutherland of Brentwood received a certificate of advanced study. •The State University of New York at Cortland recognized the following local residents at the annual honors convocation, Saturday, April 21: Rose Graham, of Central Islip received the Dorothy Amsdorff Award from the physical education department and the chancellor's award for student excellence from the State University of New York and Kaitlin Elizabeth Ramsbothom, of Bay Shore, received the Peter Eisenhardt '67 Award for Excellence in Tech First, All College. •Briarcliffe College, with campuses in Bethpage and Patchogue, recently held commencement ceremonies for graduates on May 30. He is majoring in business finance. His parents are Joann and Todd Holgan of Babylon. •Ibelise Caba, of Babylon, received a certificate of advanced study from The College of Saint Rose, Albany in the fall 2006. •Kaitlin Johnson, of Lindenhurst, due to graduate Lindenhurst High School, has been awarded a $500 Russo Family Scholarship to attend Alfred State College where she plans to enroll in the nursing program. •Elizabeth Milana, of Lindenhurst, was honored at the State University of New York at Cortland Honors Convocation with the Harriet Bentley Junior Memorial Award. •The following West Islip residents graduated from Bryant University, Smithfield, Rhode Island, Saturday, May 19: Ryan R. Lynde received a bachelor of science in business administration, accounting and Brianna Frances Sesto received a bachelor of science in business administration, marketing. •Matthew Nicholas Giammarinaro received a bachelor of science in business administration, accounting, summa cum laude from Bryant University, Smithfield, Rhode Island. He received three awards at that time: The Anna M. and Jere St. Angelo '61 Accounting Award given to the graduate who is in the top 10 percent of the class; the George J. Sunday, May 13. •James Lazak, of North Babylon, was named to the dean's list for the spring semester at American International College, Springfield, Massachusetts where he is a senior majoring in criminal justice. Litwin interned for 17 weeks with the Suffolk County Probation Department, passed the New York City Police test earlier this year and also took the Suffolk County Police test in June.
