Town of Babylon 911 Memorial at Cedar Beach

The Town of Babylon 9/11 Memorial continues to undergo construction and expansion. This memorial is unique in that it was built primarily through private donations and offers

a lasting memory of more than 40 individuals from Babylon who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.

Located at Cedar Beach, near Overlook, the memorial was designed by Pete Keller of Amityville, and cost close to $1 million to complete. After holding several fundraisers, the September 11th Hometown Memorial Foundation, local businesses and professionals came forward offering their services and worked tirelessly to get it built. It now provides a serene location for reflection and remembrance and memorializes the lives lost in a personal vision put together by each family.
