PTA Units from the Lindenhurst School District joined together to celebrate the 110th anniversary of PTA. The evening hosted by the Lindenhurst PTA Council, began with opening comments by Rose Mourdoukoutos, Council President. She congratulated all PTA members for their dedication and tireless efforts for the students of Lindenhurst. She introduced her fellow council members: Karen Clemens, 1st Vice President; Linda Williams, 2nd Vice President; Toni Sicignano, Recording Secretary; Donna Fazio, Treasurer; Pat Cahalin, Corresponding Secretary and Lynn Burke, Past President.

A special lifetime achievement award was presented to Jacqueline Milton for her years of devotion and participation in PTA. Jacqueline was described as an advocate for the needs of children and has been the chairperson for Lindenhurst's Relay for Life. "She has always been there for the children of Lindenhurst and we are so thankful for her years of service and dedication," stated Council President Rose Mourdoukoutos.

It was a Flashback to the Eighties as the evening went on to showcase the talents of each Lindenhurst School. The audience enjoyed a rendition of Hit Me With Your Best Shot by the Lindenhurst High School Odyssey Choir, a star studded, basketball clad performance of Get'cha Head in the Game by the Lindenhurst Middle School cast of High School Musical. Whether you were singing along to Daniel Street's Rhythm of the Night, groovin' to Harding Avenue's '80s medley, cheering along to Albany Avenue's performance of Oh Micke or enjoying a frightfully fantastic version of "Thriller by Alleghany Avenue, the Founder's Day audience was entertained.
