Students collaborate on fossils at Forest Ave. School

The second grade and the fifth grade at West Babylon's Forest Avenue Elementary School joined forces recently to create fossils in a cooperative project. Mrs. Delapi's fifth graders were studying rocks and minerals while simultaneously Mrs. Riccio's second graders were learning about dinosaurs when the teachers had the brainstorm to combine the lessons.

The result - students combined their knowledge and efforts in making fossils. They used clay, shells, leaves, and flowers in their creations, which will be displayed for all to see at the second grade dinosaur show.
